About Us

This website was developed by the Accommodations and Modifications for Students with Disabilities Project through the Learning Systems Institute, Florida State University, funded by the State of Florida, Department of Education, Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services, through federal assistance under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Part B.

The project develops training, software, and print material to support the education of students with disabilities in Florida's public schools. A major focus of the efforts has been on the implementation of the Sunshine State Standards for Special Diploma and revised Course Descriptions for Exceptional Student Education, Grades 6-12. Many different materials have been developed to support the work of teachers and to help parents understand how the standards relate to their children.
