  Center for Performance Technology
      Introduction


The Center for Performance Technology (CPT) is one of two centers of the Learning Systems Institute at Florida State University and an internationally recognized leader in human performance R&D.

Under the leadership of CPT Director Dr. Robert K. Branson, the mission of the Center for Performance Technology is "to design, develop, and implement technology-based education and performance programs in large organizations through the application of a systems approach." In achieving this purpose, CPT is guided by the following aims to:

  • advance the art of instructional systems, performance technology, and education
  • pursue objectives of significant social value
  • take bold steps in redefining education and training
  • embody principles for implementing quality systems
  • acquire and apply appropriate resources to accomplish the tasks
  • serve large organizations, including state and national governmental agencies, corporations, military services, and developing countries
