Alternate Curriculum

Summary:

This page presents information about the type of student who may require an alternate curriculum and gives examples of this type of curriculum modification.

Students who require modifications in curriculum content are those that the IEP team determines to have a significant cognitive disability that prevents them from achieving the Sunshine State Standards, even with allowable accommodations. A student on alternate curriculum needs instruction in academics and vocational competencies, as well as domestic, community, living, and leisure activities. These students are working on the Access Points for the Sunshine State Standards
