A standardized test is designed to be administered, scored, and interpreted in the same manner for all individuals. Standardized tests are frequently use by school districts to measure academic achievement. Many colleges and universities require students to submit the results of a standardized test prior to admission. Standardized tests are also used to qualify individuals for certain occupational certificates or licenses. The test administrator's manual for each standardized test provides information about allowable accommodations. Students must provide documentation of their disability in order to be eligible for accommodations on standardized tests.
